In the Telecommunications sector, CDP Ltd has identified another niche market for it’s range of glass fibre products.

During the early 90’s there began a rapid expansion of the telecommunications network throughout the U.K.. The almost endless rise in the number of mobile phones with there increased capabilities presented network planners with an additional problem. The infrastructure required to support the next generation of 3G phones required thousands of additional hubs around the country, many of these being in areas subject to stringent planning constraints. There was now a need for a product which would screen the antennas and microwave dishes but would allow high frequency radio waves to pass through. In addition these panels would need to replicate a variety of finishes and be able to with stand environmental loads placed upon them.

Composite Design's  division committed then to under take a programme of research and development in order to produce a product which would meet the needs of the customer and be financially viable. During this time a partnership was developed with a University’s R&D Company. After an exhaustive testing programme a product was developed that would cater for a range of frequencies and angle of incidences and meet the required Db loses specified for by the customer. Since these early days we have successfully constructed many sites around the country, which replicate stone, brick, various cladding finishes. These in addition have many variations of antennas and microwave dishes all which operate within different frequency ranges. Our ability to adapt our product and the means of it’s construction has produced a highly innovative product which demonstrates our capability to provide turn key solutions to the challenges encountered.
